Inside the Honey Pearl

Honey Golden
Pearls.
Accept no substitutes.

The pearl is the soul of Daboba — not an afterthought, not a topping. Every batch begins as a small pile of starch and ends as a pot of glowing amber jewelry, slow-cooked over four patient hours until they bend instead of break, and chew instead of merely fill.

The Ritual

Four hours,
never less.

Every Daboba atelier follows the same four-step pearl ritual, every morning, before the doors open. It is the only honest way to do this.

  1. I

    Selection

Pearl-grade tapioca starch from Pingtung — graded by hand. No broken beads make it past the counter.

  2. II

    Slow simmer

Bathed for four hours in real muscovado brown sugar. No syrups, no shortcuts, no powders.

  3. III

    Honey rest

Glazed in a warm honey bath until each pearl glows translucent gold and bends instead of breaks.

  4. IV

    Service

Spooned to order, never pre-portioned. Always within thirty minutes of the pot.

Our Story & Brand Ethos

Slow tea,
in a fast country.

Daboba opened in 2018 with a Taiwan-trained crew and a quiet conviction: bubble tea could be brewed like a third-wave coffee, served like a glass of wine, and worn like a small daily ritual. Across every outlet today, in every city we land in, that conviction still pours from every cup.

The House Code

Three rules,
non-negotiable.

Organic leaves

Direct from the mountain

Alishan, Wuyi Da Hong Pao, Bai Mu Dan — sourced direct from family farms, blended in-house every morning.

Slow craft

Made to order

Every cup is built by hand. Pearls cooked in small batches, four hours each, every morning, never overnight.

Quiet luxury

No shortcuts

No syrups, no powders, no colorings. Just real ingredients in beautiful glass — the way tea was meant to be.
